Hey guys! Here is a portfolio of all of my cooking assignments for my Culinary Arts class. Hope you enjoy!

Meringue

One food item I was required to create is meringue topping for pies. It was actually super fun!

Great Gatsby Showcase 2014

On May 22, 2014, my ballroom studio Enlight Ballroom hosted their end of the year performance, and it was an amazing experience! Every team performed magnificently, as well as great dancing.

The dances that my team (Junior Red) performed were Paso Doble to One Final Effort from the Halo game, Jive to Hey Ya by OutKast, Latin Medley to soundtracks from Men in Black 3, and a Standard Medley to the soundtracks from Oz the Great and Powerful.

This photo is of our Paso Doble:

Gardening

Today my family and I worked out in our garden (again). I was feeling a little sick, so I only did small things like carrying, cutting, or planting, while Morynn, Max, and Andrew did digging and raking.

I planted carrots, cabbage, and flowers, and after I had finished, my mom told me to water the plants and the new seeds. So I sent my brother, Max, to turn on the water. I starting misting some of the new seeds when, all of a sudden, the head of the water wand popped off and landed a little ways off. We all sit there in silence for five seconds before just bursting out laughing.

I started to turn around so I could go turn off the water when the hose burst right behind me. A huge current of water gushed all over my back and legs, and that threw the boys into a laughing fit. It was like straight out of a movie.

Other than that, it was just a normal, spring day.

May Day

Summer has officially begun for Mendon. On May 3rd, 2014, in Mendon, we celebrated May Day.

The May Day Queen and her Court enjoyed a good breakfast at the Mendon Square and then were seated in front of the May Day poles.

The Queen was crowned by the King and a few joyous songs followed. Then the May Day girls braided the ribbons of the May Day poles while singing songs to their Queen.

Afterwards, there was a short program where a speaker presented his thoughts on the importance of May Day, and then the Queen and her Court sang a beautiful song.

When the ceremony was finished, families enjoyed delicious burgers, hot dogs, and nachos from the Burger Stand as well as flavorful snow cones from the Snow Cone Shack. Then, after conversing with other families and hanging out at the park, everyone went home happy and tired after the day's activities.
